DAY 9 - BUDAPEST, HUNGARY - VIENNA, AUSTRIA
The bus ride from Budapest to Vienna was just fine; probably one of the easiest we had, since the departure was quite late compared to our standards (we left at 8:50). We weren't that tired, which means the atmosphere wasn’t really quiet, but of course there were also people watching TV series or sleeping. It took around three or four hours to get to Vienna.
Bussimatka Budapestista Wieniin oli mukava, ehkä jopa helpoin koko reissun aikana, koska lähtö oli kohtalaisen myöhään (8:50) normaaleihin lähtöaikoihin verrattuna. Emme olleet erityisen väsyneitä, joten matka ei ollut hiljainen, mutta luonnollisesti osa silti nukkui tai katsoi tv-sarjoja. Matka kesti noin neljä tuntia Wieniin.
Everyone always talks about the beauty of Vienna but all that talk could never have gotten me prepared for what I saw today. It's not just the architecture or statues, it's the history that really hits you. Every park, statue and building seems to have an intricate story behind it. I felt like I learned a lot through the tour, but I know that there are a million more things for me to learn about Vienna. I feel so blessed to be here and am incredibly excited to continue Eurotour and discover more.
Wien on tunnettu kauneudestaan ja romanttisuudestaan, mutta kuulemamme ei koskaan saanut meitä odottamaan mitään tällaista. Arkkitehtuuri ja patsaat olivat hienoja, mutta historia oli se, mikä meihin iski. Jokaisella puistolla, patsaalla ja rakennuksella tuntui olevan täysin oma, uniikki tarina. Kiertoajelulla tunsin oppivani paljon, mutta jäi silti paljon nähtävää tulevaisuutta varten! Olemme erittäin onnellisia täällä emmekä malta odottaa mitä kaikkea muuta Eurotourilla on tarjota tulevina päivinä.
The first evening in Vienna was great. There was a sadness in the air over the loss of Budapest. But as soon as we arrived to Vienna all was well once again. There was the excitement of a new city, and the amazement of the new views. All day the students joked and played and had fun. Having a week of Euro tour behind us, we have gotten used to the routine. At times it can be boring (as most everyday life is), but mostly Eurotour is us exploring new places and experiencing new thing. Vienna has been wonderful so far, and I expect the rest of our time in Vienna to exceed our expectation.
Ensimmäinen ilta Wienissä oli mahtava. Olimme toki surullisia siitä, että jouduimme jättämään Budapestin taaksemme, mutta uudet haasteet ja nähtävyydet Wienissä saivat meidät unohtamaan ikävät asiat ja ajattelemaan vain mukavia. Päivä täyttyi nauruista ja yleisestä pelleilystä. Eurotouria on jo yli viikko takana ja rytmistä on tullut ruutininomaista. Eurotour on ollut koko reissun ajan uusien seikkailujen ja kokemusten tapahtumista. Wien on ollut mahtava tähän asti, ja toivon sen ylittävän odotuksemme täällä ollessamme.
