DAY 1 - Helsinki - Tallinn - Pärnu - Riga

Ensimmäinen Eurotour -päivä alkoi tänään aamukahdeksalta Katajanokan satamasta. Osa kauempaa tulleista vaihto-oppilaista saapui jo edellisenä päivänä ja yöpyi Rotexien kanssa Katajanokassa hostellissa. Kahdeksalta kokoonnuimme Katajanokan edessä, jaoimme bussit ja vastuuryhmät, kävimme läpi matkan säännöt ja matkanjohtajat ja valmistauduimme lähtöön. Laiva lähti Helsingistä Tallinnaan puoli yhdeltätoista, ja pääsimme samantien laivan buffettiin syömään. Ruokailun jälkeen pidimme yhteisen tilaisuuden jossa pääsimme tutustumaan toisiimme lisää. Laiva saapui Tallinnaan kello yhdeltä.

Our first day in Eurotour started today at eight o'clock in the morning from the port of Katajanokka in Helsinki. Some of the exchange students had already arrived on the previous day and stayed overnight in Helsinki in a hostel with the rotex. At eight o'clock in the morning we gathered in front of the Katajanokka port, we divided the exchange students in two bus groups, we went through the trip rules, the trip leaders and we were prepared to go to the ship. The ship left from Helsinki to Tallinn at half past ten and we went directly to have a buffet brunch. We arrived in Tallinn at one o'clock.

Tallinnassa teimme pienen kiertoajelun keskustan alueella päätyen Toompean mäelle, jossa vaihto-oppilailla oli aikaa kierrellä. Kävimme ihastelemassa Alexander Nevskin kirkkoa, ja kaupunkimaisemaa joka kukkulalta aukesi. Tallinnasta lähdimme ajamaan kohti Pärnua. Pärnussa pidimme pienen tauon, jolloin meillä oli aikaa käydä kahvilla ja ostamassa eväitä. Pärnusta ajoimme suoraan Latvian pääkaupunkiin Riikaan. Riikassa söimme illallista ja menimme huoneisiin. Illalla meillä oli vapaa-aikaa, ja nyt olemme menossa nukkumaan. Hyvää yötä!

In Tallinn we did a small bus tour across the city center. We ended up in the hill of Toompea, which is a famous tourist spot in Tallinn. We had some free time to wander in the idyllic streets and take pictures of the views. The picture above is taken of the church of Alexander Nevski. From Tallinn we started the couple hours' drive to a beach town of Pärnu. We stopped there to have a coffee break and buy some snacks for the bus drive. After the break we started driving to Riga which is the capital of Latvia. In Riga we ate our dinner at the hotel and we checked in to our rooms. In the evening we had some free time and now we're going to sleep. Good night!
