DAY 12 - PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC

Another great day of Eurotour! Today, we woke up in Prague and had a free day to look forward to. Most of us caught up on sleep and tried to make plans to sightsee and meet friends. The city was alive with events and great weather.

Taas yksi loistava päivä Eurotourilla! Tänään heräsimme Prahassa, ja meitä odotti vapaapäivä. Suurin osa meistä nukkui univelkoja kiinni pitkälle aamuun, jonka jälkeen suuntasimme katsomaan nähtävyyksiä ja tapaamaan ystäviä. Kaupunki oli eläväinen tapahtumineen.

Most of us decided to explore Pragues city center. Old, beautiful buildings frame the main square and the good weather gave all of us a great mood. The Lennon Wall, museums and the famous astronomical clock (which very unfortunately was under construction, so basically nowhere to be seen except for on postcards) was on all of our lists. The contrast of the city was very interesting to us, as it has very modern buildings alongside with old churches and bridges older than some of our countries. Some of us met with some exchange students that had returned to the Czech Republic from their exchange in Finland, Eve and Martin. Their year as exchange students was ended, but the ties made with the rest of the exchange students was still strong.

Suurin osa meistä päätti lähteä tutkimaan Prahan keskustaa. Vanhat kauniit rakennukset kehystävät keskusaukiota, ja hyvän sää antoi potkua hyvälle mielelle. John Lennonin seinä, museot ja kuuluisa astronominen kello (joka valitettavasti oli kunnostettavana, joten emme nähneet sitä muualla kuin postikorteissa) olivat kaikkien listalla. Kaupungissa on nähtävissä hyvin suuri kontrasti modernien rakennusten seistessä vanhojen kirkkojen ja siltojen vieressä. Osa näistä rakennelmista oli jopa vanhempia kuin meidän valtiomme. Jotkut meistä menivät tapaamaan jo Suomesta kotiin palanneita vaihto-oppilaita, Eveä ja Martinia. Vaikka heidän vaihtonsa oli jo loppunut, oli vaihto-oppilaiden välille syntynyt side edelleen vahva.

Full of ice cream and good laughs, this day was a bit different for everyone since we didn't have a common plan, but memorable nonetheless. It was long and great and even though there were a few bumps in the road, very large ones for some, we all managed to enjoy the time we had. The memories made laughing with friends, getting tricked into paying some euros for holding a snake, falling on the tram, and staring at beautiful views and today's incredible sunset will stick with us all forever. We definitely look forward to seeing Munich tomorrow, it will be the last city we will stay in for this trip and everyone is excited to see Germany. This concludes an exciting time in Prague, but there is still more to come.

Päivä oli täynnä jäätelöä ja naurua. Päivä oli hyvin erilainen muihin päiviin verrattuna, sillä meillä ei ollut mitään yhteistä ohjelmaa - päivä oli silti ikimuistoinen. Vaikka päivä oli pitkä, ja vaikka matkassa oli mutkia (joillakin vähän isompiakin), nautimme ajastamme täällä. Muistot jota olemme saaneet nauraessa ystäviemme kanssa, maksaessa muutamia euroja jotta pääsisimme pitelemään käärmettä, kaatumalla ratikassa, katsomalla kauniita maisemia ja tämän päivän kaunista auringonlaskua tulevat pysymään kanssamme ikuisesti. Odotamme innolla näkevämme Munchenin huomenna, se on matkan viimeinen kaupunki. Kaikki ovat innoissaaan siitä, että pääsemme Saksaan. Tähän päättyy jännät ajat Prahassa, mutta onneksi matka jatkuu vielä.
