DAY 10 - VIENNA, AUSTRIA

Day 10 was definitely a 10/10. “Five stars,” says Jacqueline Krikorian. “The view from the Ferris Wheel was great” says Gabi Vieira.

Kymmenes päivä oli ehdottomasti 10/10. "Viisi tähteä", sanoo Jacqueline Krikorian. "Näkymät maailmanpyörästä olivat loistavar" sanoo Gabi Vieira.

We’ve all been tired from the bus rides and we were so excited to get to sleep in today. It was the most we’ve gotten to sleep in so far on the tour and it gave us lots of energy for our day in Austria.

Olemme kaikki olleet väsyneitä matkustamisesta, joten olimme hyvin iloisia kun saimme nukkua myöhään tänään. Nukuimme tänään paljon enemmän kuin edellisinä öinä, joten saimme paljon energiaa päivällemme Itävallassa.

We loaded up into our busses and headed off to Schönbrunn, the Imperial Palace of Austria. We did an audio tour in three different groups through the first floor of the Palace. It was extremely beautiful and we learned a lot about the lineage of the Hapsburg Royal family.

Pakkauduimme busseihimme ja suuntasimme kohti Itävallan keisarillista palatsia - Schönbrunnia. Meillä oli audio-opastettu kierros kolmessa eri ryhmässä ympäri palatsia, joka oli hyvin kaunis. Opimme paljon Hapsburgin kuninkaallisen perheen sukujuurista.

After our tour, we were given free time for the rest of the day. We all broke off into groups to go pursue different activities. A popular decision was a visit to the Belvedere Museum to see ‘The Kiss’ painted by Gustav Klimt. The city-center market was also a popping place to be. There was also an amusement park that attracted many of the exchange students and had a Ferris Wheel with a wonderful view of the city. Overall, we can agree that Vienna is an incredible city and we all hope to be able to come back one day and explore more.

Kierroksen jälkeen meillä oli vapaa-aikaa koko loppupäivän ajan. Jakauduimme eri porukoihin tekemään ja näkemään omia kiinnostuksen kohteitamme. Suurin osa päätti mennä Belvederen museoon näkemään Gustav Klimtin maalaaman suudelman. Keskustan torialue oli myös hyvä paikka hengailla. Lähellä oli myös huvipuisto, johon moni vaihto-oppilas suuntasi. Huvipuistossa sijaisi myös maailmanpyörä josta oli upeat maisemat kaupunkiin. Kaiken kaikkiaan olemme sitä mieltä, että Wien on uskomaton kaupunki. Toivomme kaikki, että voisimme joku päivä tulla takaisin kokemaan lisää.
